Host an Event

Host an Austin No Kidding! Event…

In case you don’t know where to start, we have some easy instructions/ideas.

Ideas

A Theme

Does your event have a natural theme? Does it center around a certain activity or place?

Previous special events included:
  • Star Trek Party
  • Plant Swap
  • Open Screen Night
  • Book Swap
  • Spoetzl Brewery Tour
  • Wine Tastings
  • Storytelling & Stargazing
  • Canopy Tour
  • Classic Movies
  • Spies: Livegame Party

Co-host

Do you want to share the workload? Consider seeking a co-host. Feel free to ask a fellow member of Austin No Kidding! to co-host the event. Extra eyes, ears, hands, and brains go a long way to help.

Date

Check the Austin No Kidding! calendar and then choose a date for your event. Email the date and event information to info@AustinChildFree.org. The Calendar Organizer will work with you to gather all the information needed for posting. In the description, include a deadline for when attendees will need to Claim a Ticket.

Location

The location can be your house, another private residence, a public area, or anywhere else you choose. Make sure the location fits the event; you can limit the number of attendees if needed. (To protect members’ privacy, the location of events is usually e-mailed at a later date to those who RSVP.)

Costs

Free Events

Austin No Kidding! does not charge for events. If the event requires entrance or parking fees, this must be a part of the event description.

Events with Fees

Some events (museum trips, tours, etc.) have fees associated with entrance and/or parking. These events are welcome, too. Again, just be clear in your description.

Hosting Duties

Make sure all the necessities are covered: food/snacks, drinks, plates, napkins, party favors (if that fits your theme and budget), etc.

Put your best foot forward. Hosting an event means that you are representing Austin No Kidding!
