We are leaving “the Riata” but before we do, we wanted to take advantage of its most unique ammenity: the Bocce court & outdoor wine bar. To make things more interesting, we’ll also have a Redneck Wine Tasting for those who want to partake.

Bocce
- Feel free to review the rules and see if you’d like to play. Jeff & Judy have also played (and even own their own Bocce set.)
- Want to “play” ahead of time? Have an iPhone?
Bring
- a cheap ($10 or less) bottle of wine, if you like
- a wine-friendly redneck snack to share: cheese whiz, fruit rollups, saltine crackers, spam, moon pies, etc.
Redneck Wine Tasting
- If you want to participate in the Redneck Wine Tasting, please bring one bottle of wine valued at $10 or less (shelf price, before tax). Do not tell anyone what wine you’re bringing.
- After all the wine has arrived, Lori will sort it from sweet whites to dry reds for the tasting.
- Each wine will be given a “round” so everyone tastes the same wine together. You can make notes and score the wine however you like. Chat and discuss (and cuss if you must), but do not admit which wine is yours.
- Depending on how many wines we have, we’ll taste a couple before we play Bocce. Then, we’ll take a break in the middle of Bocce for another taste or two. We’ll have the rest at the end. Those who don’t want to drink wine are free to play more Bocce during tastings, of course.
- After the last wine has been tasted, you’ll vote for your favorite(s). Whomever brought the best wine(s) will get to take home the bottle of their choice.
Parking
If there is parking near the leasing office at Riata, feel free to use one of those spaces, but please do not park in a “future resident” spot. The parking lot is also the parking for the gym, so if the lot is full, park across Riata Trace Parkway, in the Riata Corporate Park (which houses CenTex homes, Apple, DR Horton, and others). Please be very careful crossing the street.
Play!
Whether you want to play Bocce, drink wine, or simply laugh at us try to play Bocce while we drink wine, join us! It’s sure to be good for a laugh if nothing else.
