2008 Halloween Party

Star invited all her Austin Childfree friends to her house of ill-repute and gaming hell for our fifth Halloween costume party. She allowed us to run wild through the house, leaving her to guess at some of the more intriguing decorations.

Star greeted everyone as "Mrs. Lovett", complete with blood stained apron, rolling-pin and sang several songs from "Sweeney Todd" while passing around her savory meat pies. They were quite nice, as long at you didn't get any of the ones with a finger-nail.

Also on the buffet table were cup-cakes bitten by a vampire (obviously craving carb's on the all-blood diet).

The center piece cake was "Wicked Witch of the West". Click on the picture above to see how the cake was made.

Costumes included a couple of financial pirates plundering 401k's, Typhoid Mary, Hell-Rider (he parked his bike around the side), and an interesting take on "American Werewolf in London". Many of the outfits this year had fine details that you had to look for - including the Bar-code on the back of the Cylon's neck, little Whitehouse memo's and a mechanical Werewolf that defies description.

Mrs. Lovett welcomes you to her pie shop. Everything is freshly baked! A children's "doll cake" - Childfree style. Delicious meat pies - a surprise in every bite. If you ignore the teeth mark - the cupcakes had a rich raspberry filling.
The last person who didn't tip the barber. Typhoid Mary and a dead Marilyn Monroe cheer up the party. Turn over your 401k's and mortgages. The Wall-Street Pirates are here.
Borat joins in this great American Tradition. Despite evidence to the contrary - Holly insisted that she was Human and not a Cylon. Her bar-code said different. And they call it "puppy love..."
Sandy's "Pumpkin Queen" was beautifully made. Trying to sell good luck to this lot!. Marilyn looking a little worse for wear after taking to many pills - and Covered in indiscretions.
An extra from the last Indiana Jones movie (hopefully the last). A Saloon girl and Hell Rider.
Yee-hawwww.
They fought over who would wear the dress... You can rely on Lauren to bring a smile.
"American Werewolf in London" - some parts of this costume went beyond taste... When Death comes to your party - avoid the Salmon mousse. OK, there has to be a story behind this somewhere...
Flourishing a knife with grace, Mrs. Lovett hacks into the cake... ...while Typhod Mary offers to help serve the food. Among the games - the story telling get really creative. To round the evening, Jerry announces this years "Death Pool" results.
