2008 Festivus Party

Jerry and Lena welcomed their Childfree friends to celebrate that most special and magical celebration of the year - "Festivus; The party for the Rest of us!" for this years Christmas party. With a Festivus pole, around which the presents were arranged and a special episode of "Seinfeld" playing on the TV, the scene was set for a great non-religious and generally secular party and our infamous "white elephant" gift exchange.

We all mourned the loss of the Wow-cow, but we were brave (and happy), and after the obligatory Festivus "feats of strength" and "airing of grievances", the gift exchange began. Staying with the theme of doing things different, the gift exchange was made interesting with a few "wildcards" added in among the numbers. Some cards instructed the person to steal, some said they could not steal, and a few more interesting twists to make the event fun.

For this years most stolen gifts, we had several that changed owners, the pre-packed military dinners draw comments about people's culinary expertise, a obscure hula statue was popular, as well as the obligatory alcohol.

The Festivus pole explains the purpose of this holiday.

We certainly like our festive food.

Sad little Grievance cookies.

Smile for the camera! You're gonna be on the web-page

Present gathered around the pole!

Keisha and Marvin dress for the occasion.

A Prayer is offered to St Festivus <quote> I'm not a lush - honest <unquote>
Pole Dancing Marvin airs a grievance. The feats of feebleness strength ... ... and the crowd goes wild!
Judy's outfit clashes with the lottery pot. A gift with instructions - this can't be good I'm not sure that he's happy with the hula goddess. Awww. There's always a cute bug somewhere.
Yeah - someone bought the booze! Date night for Jerry Oh stop trying to be a connoisseur - its alcohol. Does this really need a caption?
Judy: "Chris! How could you bring that *thing*!" Just what I need - an office goddess. Oh look - fine silverware And a very Merry Christmas to you
Didn't Judy win this last year? After the Gifts, we light the Festivus Pudding... I just know this is going to end badly! And the final winner of the Hula Goddess...
